Our Staff
Seishin's deep and diverse teaching staff consists of some of the most experienced and accomplished martial artists in New England. Our staff has cross trained in numerous martial arts and many hold national and world martial arts championships:
Shihan Eric Hung
Seishin Founder / Master Instructor
A student of the martial arts for over 30 years, World Champion Shihan Eric Hung holds the rank of Rokudan (sixth degree black belt) in the art of Kenpo Karate. With over 20 years of teaching experience, Eric is the founder of Seishin Martial Arts and serves as our academies master instructor. Eric began his Kenpo training in Westborough, MA earning his first degree black belt in Framingham, MA in the art of “Nick Cerio’s Kenpo”. In 2007, he was awarded his master title (Shihan) by Professor Rocky DiRico. In addition to Kenpo, he has trained in the arts of Karate (Shotokan, Goju-Ryu), Taekwondo (ITF, WTF), Aikido, Jui-Jitsu, and Capoeira. As a member of the elite competition team, “Team Straight Up,” Eric is a six time state and eight time National Champion on the KRANE sport karate circuit, a National and World Champion on the NASKA sport karate circuit, and a member of the KRANE Hall Of Fame (Adult Competitor Of The Year.) In addition to his own competition success, Eric has assisted in the training of countless national and world champions. Eric primarily teaches at our Sherborn academy.
Shihan Chuck Leverone
Shihan Chuck has been studying the martial arts for over 30 years and holds the rank of fifth degree black belt in the art of kenpo. In addition to his experience in kenpo, he is also well versed in the arts of Aikido, Tai Chi, Chin Na, Silat, Kali, and both Japanese and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. He is a member of the World Martial Arts Federation Hall Of Fame and is an active judge at WMAF tournaments. Shihan Chuck serves as the lead instructor for our adult martial arts and self defense program.
Sensei Kurt Marcinkiewicz
With over 20 years of martial arts experience, Sensei Kurt holds a 2nd degree black belt in kenpo and has also cross-trained in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu. As a member of Team Straight Up, Kurt was a top world competitor for years and holds 3 triple crown awards, and 13 National Championships. He now coaches Team Straight Up as well our own regional team, Team Seishin. Kurt holds a B.S. from Northeastern University and is a software engineer at Google in Cambridge.
Sensei Nathan Lipsy
World Champion Nidan Nathan has 13 years of martial arts experience and is a 2nd degree black belt in kenpo. As a member of Team Straight Up & Team USA, he is a 2x world champion, a 3x national & overall champion and was a gold medalist at the World Championships. He currently is ranked in the top 10 on the world circuit. He specialties youth instruction for martial arts, strength and conditioning, tournament instruction and distance learning.
Sensei Jenna Rankin
National Champion Nidan Jenna holds the rank of 2nd degree black in the art of kenpo. As a member of Team Straight Up and Team USA, she is a 3x national, 5x state, and 4x overall grand champion as well as a triple crown winner. Jenna is one of Seishin’s longest active competitors with over almost decade of competition experience. Nidan Jenna specializes in youth martial arts instruction, tournament instruction, and distance learning.
Shodan Gabe Bryant
Shodan Gabe has over 15 years of martial arts experience and holds the rank of black belt in the art of karate. Gabe was a top ten world competitor, national champion, and was a member of the top national teams Team DS and Team Straight Up. He has been featured in music videos, movies, and commercials. Gabe also actively train in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu.
Nidan Kira Newmark
World Champion Shodan Kira holds the rank of 2nd degree black belt in the art of kenpo. A a member of Team Straight Up and Team USA, Kira is a 3x world, 5x national, 7x state, and 4x overall grand champion as well as a triple crown winner. Kira won gold at the 2019 World Championships in Niagara Falls. She is best known for her incredible flexibility and high kicking performances. She specializes in youth martial arts instruction, stretching routings/playability, tournament instruction, and distance learning.
Shodan Michael Bulkin
Holding the rank of Shodan, 1st degree black belt Shodan Michael has been a student of the martial arts for over 7 years. Shodan Michael specializes in both Weapons and fighting. A star hockey goalie and premier lacrosse player Shodan Michael is a longtime Sherborn resident who instructional focus in on youth programs.
Shodan Maggie Neyenhouse
Shodan Maggie holds a 1st degree black belt with over 6years of martial arts experience. Shodan Maggie a long time Sherborn resident specializes in the instruction of youth programs and remote/online instruction.
